The early 7.30am start had not deterred the eager networkers. As the room filled with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and bacon wafted from the kitchen, all that could be heard was the sound of excited chatter. As guests at the latest Lets Talk Biz networking event eagerly awaited the arrival of Stan, when host (the shady but not slim Kevin Smith) pressed play on the intro video, the crowd erupted.
Once again, they had got what they came for. Not only were the people in the room looking to make connections, build rapports and pass referral business, but they love the informal and fresh approach Lets Talk Biz (LTBIZ) events provide.
LTBIZ partnered with Claims Consortium Group to launch the first of the 2019 events and the inspiring Rob Chilcott has added yet another dimension to the group. His ten minute presentations don’t include a social media algorithm update (not that I’m knocking these as we all need them and they’re important to so many businesses), but he truly inspires, he makes you think outside the box, and gives you a small snippet of thought process to take away with you. Now why wouldn’t you want to start your working day so inspired?
This is no ordinary networking event, for starters it’s been running for more than 9 years! Events take place 6 times a year and LTBIZ support a variety of independent businesses throughout Taunton and Bridgwater. “Changing venue and area introduces new blood to the group but ensures the opportunity to continue to build relationships with those you’ve met before. Although meeting up with new contacts and continuing to build relationships outside of the networking sessions is encouraged” explains host Kevin.
There are no formalities at these events, in fact there are few suits to be seen. I had expected some PJs with the early start, but none to be seen and everyone there was clothed! I’m not sure if this will be the case at the Septembers event, entitled nothing less than ‘NAKED networking!!.”
Think I might me on holiday then!, But if you’re not ,I seriously suggest you find out more. Visit www.letstalkbiz.co.uk and do it now as these events continually sell out.

“It's not what you know it’s who you know”.
Don’t believe what you hear about networking:
🚫 “It doesn’t work”
🚫 “it’s the same old people”
Negative people are infectiously boring and uninspiring - if you’ve managed to #win and don’t need to meet people 👆🏼👆🏼 happy days for you, don’t put others off.
✅✅ Changing & doing something different is massively important in business.
✅✅ Find a group / event that helps you have the conversations you want. Lots of great events happening locally all with slightly different formats. #LTBIZ has opted for the bit of business banter, why? Because it’s the easiest way to get to know, like & trust someone.
Become a connector, the goodwill created above, creating and building opportunity for others, is unmeasurable.

OUR NEXT EVENT 11th October at The Hub Cafe Taunton
Supported by the Taunton Chamber of Commerce
Ramblings by Kev.
Thoughts and opinions my own.
After 6+ months break Let's Talk Business relaunched at The White Feather Coffee Co in Bridgwater.
Known for its successful networking events in Taunton, Let’s Talk Biz have spread their wings by introducing venues across Bridgwater, Taunton and Wellington.
Kevin Smith of Elavon, has brought on board a ‘crew’ of like-minded business people with which to run the events, which are proving even more popular now that they have a more relaxed format.
“Let’s Talk Biz needed a fresh face” explains Kevin. “We spend so much time at work that we wanted guests to have some fun, and that’s what we hope to achieve with the new format.
There will be no formal presentations, but hopefully some thought provoking conversation, even maybe the odd game or two. And I’m sure people will still be able to leave with that ‘nugget’ that more formal events provide.
Networking is all about new contacts and new business opportunities and this hasn't changed, but what we want to achieve is plenty of fun. After all, who wouldn't want to start their working day by enjoying themselves?”
